Take a look at what’s new at Mereworth Market Garden This season!
It’s slowly coming to the end of winter and it is the perfect time for pruning and training existing fruit! We will start phase one of the greenhouses within the walled garden to include our new propagation facility, which will enable us to expand the plant raising for all our crops. We are also constructing a new multi-span polytunnel which will nearly double our current protected crops. This means more delicious Mereworth tomatoes, melons, peppers, chillies and more!
Going forward, new cherry and peach trees will be planted to replace older stock. All seeds, including over 80 different varieties of heritage tomatoes have been procured so sowing for this season will begin as early as next week.
We are excited to see what this season will bring and hope to see an increase in both varieties and volumes for 2024!
