Try out the January recipe of The Month 2022! Port and Stichelton Toasts, perfect for these Winter months.
Serves: up to 20 people
Ingredients
500ml Port
4 Banana Shallots, finely diced
500g Stitchelton
2 Free range egg yolks
1 tbsp English mustard
20g Chopped walnuts
Hungry Guest Integrale Bread
Directions
Place the diced shallots in a pan & pour over the port. Reduce by half, until a thick syrup
Place the Stichelton, egg, yolk, mustard & walnuts in a bowl & pour in the port syrup. Mix well.
Slice the bread fairly thin, approx 1cm, lightly toast & top with the Stichelton & port mix
Grill until golden brown
